Hello! We’re the Hoggs – the family behind Foam-O.
I’m Robyn. My parents always told me I was born to be an entrepreneur and the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown game me the kick in the pants I needed to make that vision come true. So, Foam-O was born.
I was brought up (by my parents, Chris and Valdine) on a beautiful Northumbrian farm near Cramlington. My Mum produces home-grown wild bird foods while my Dad is passionate about making the most of the bi-products of the farm and sustainability. We make a great team.
The story of the soap? That’s an interesting one. My great Grandmother loved making soap so you could say it’s a family joy. I’ve always been appalled by the huge list of ingredients on the back of a bar of supermarket-soap, so my Dad and I set about learning how to make natural soap back in 2018. Since then, Dad has been growing crops and pressing them into oil ready for the soap-making process. Fast forward to 2020 and three generations of Hoggs are now working together to make the perfect blend of family passion and great quality soap, delivered to your door or available at locally.
As for me, I graduated from the Royal Agricultural University in 2019, after excelling in both agricultural consumer marketing and agricultural diversifications. Combine that with my love of the farm I was brought up on and the thing that gets me out of bed in the morning is my plan to develop Foam-O into a household name and help the planet along the way.
We’re a friendly, flexible lot. But there are some things on which we’re unmovable. Our sustainable ethics. Foam-O soaps must be:
- Cruelty-free
- Vegan
- Free of palm oil
- Snuggled up in completely recyclable packaging
- Made from as much British, sustainably sourced small farm produce as possible
- Produced using plastic-free processes
- Made using upcycled and recycled tools and equipment where possible
All of this reflects our lifestyle and my upbringing. We’re small suppliers and we’d like to say thank you to as many other small suppliers as possible.
And sure, the soaps have fun and whimsical names, but their intent is serious. They’re seriously good for your skin, body and mind.
